Separate Boston Shootings Kill 1, Injure 3

BOSTON (CBS/AP) — One man was killed and three more were injured in three separate shootings in Boston on Tuesday night.

The fatal shooting happened in Hyde Park on Margaretta Drive. Another man was also shot at that location, but there was no information available on his condition.

There was another shooting near a polling place on Dorchester Avenue at Richmond Street, and one victim was being treated at Boston Medical Center for life-threatening injuries.

Early Wednesday morning, Boston police said they have arrested a man they say shot a Dorchester convenience store owner in front of his son.

Police say the owner of the D&D convenience store was shot in the upper body at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to Boston Medical Center and is expected to survive.

Neighbors say the well-known shopkeeper was shot in front of his son, who is about 12.

Based on a description of the suspect from another store employee, police tracked down 21-year-old Jarris Charley and charged him with armed robbery, armed assault with intent to murder and unlawful possession of a firearm.
