Determined Cape Cod Visitors And Businesses Brace For Arthur
HYANNIS (CBS) – The approach of Hurricane Arthur is topic No. 1 on Cape Cod but it's not keeping people from carrying on with their vacations.
While small boats are moored and tied down at the Hyannis town dock, visitors were willing to board ferries and head out to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.

George Spenard of New York had it all figured out. He's visiting his sister and was not going to let a little tropical weather ruin his first trip to the Vineyard.
He was equipped with a trash bag to keep him dry.
"We had it all planned but what are you gonna do? So here we are, going out to see Arthur," he said.

Despite Arthur looming off shore, Hyannis is still open for business. Parking lots were filling up and the Hy-Line Cruise terminal was hopping with people ready to enjoy their holiday regardless of the weather.
Workers were preparing tarps to protect passengers' luggage from wind or rain.
"Everybody has been keeping their spirits up," said Hy-Line's Curtis Cantella. "They said the rain can't stop patriotism."
The day dawned with beautiful sunshine but it didn't stick around for long. Visitors, however, were more focused on savoring their time at the Cape.
"We just wanted to come to the Cape and enjoy our time. It's the only time we have," Dave Arruda of Leominster said.
Greg and Christine Legenbauer of Dennis were a little disappointed they'll have to cut short their trip to Martha's Vineyard.
"We were hoping to leave at 9:10 and watch the fireworks from the boat but that's not gonna happen," Christine Legenbauer said. "We have to be back at 4:45."
Hy-Line's last trip back from the Vineyard will be that 4:45 boat, cutting its service back by two trips.
Travel from Nantucket by Hy-Line ferries will be determined on a boat-by-boat basis.
