Police Search Home In Connection To Union Leader Advertising Saleswoman's 2015 Murder

LONDONDERRY, N.H. (CBS) – Investigators are searching a Londonderry home for evidence in the unsolved 2015 murder of a New Hampshire newspaper advertising saleswoman.

Denise Robert, 62, was gunned down in August 2015 while out for a walk on Ray Street in Manchester.

Robert was a longtime advertising saleswoman for the New Hampshire Union Leader, the state's largest newspaper.

New Hampshire Attorney General Gordon MacDonald and Manchester Police Chief Enoch Willard confirmed a search warrant was being executed Thursday on Kendall Pond Road in Londonderry in connection to Robert's death.

Robert's brother said the family was told investigators are "doing an evidence search for information gathering."

"Hopefully, it's clues that will lead to the arrest and conviction of my sister's murderer," said Tom Robert.

Tom Robert was happy to see activity in the case.

"Honestly in recent months, I had thoughts about the whole case being turned over to like a cold file because it's gone on for so long," Tom Robert said.

Tom hopes that this new search leads to answers or at least more people remembering his sister- prompting someone to come forward with new information.

"At some point, they are either going to tell us they can't do anything more with it or we may get a phone call saying we've made an arrest," Tom said.

In May, police returned to the scene of Robert's murder and combed through soil. Investigators did not say what they were looking for.

Thursday's search warrant was for specific items in and around the home. Detectives would not say what those were or what they found.

There is a more than $40,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
