Delta Will No Longer Let Pets Fly As Checked Baggage
ATLANTA (CBS) -- Delta is changing its policy for travelers with pets.
The airline says it will stop accepting animals as checked baggage starting in March.
Small pets that can fit in a kennel underneath the seat will still be allowed in the cabin. Bigger animals can be shipped through Delta Cargo for a fee.

Pets traveling via Delta Cargo are kept in temperature-controlled areas with professional kenneling services if needed.
"This change will ultimately ensure that we have a high-quality, consistent service for pets when their owners choose to ship them with Delta Cargo," Delta VP Bill Lentsch said in a statement.
There are some exceptions to the forthcoming ban. Military members and people using service animals can still travel with their pets as checked baggage.
