David Ortiz Shooting Was A $7,800 Hit, Dominican Police Say
BOSTON (CBS) - A complicated investigation reveals a coordinated attack was carried out in an attempt to kill David Ortiz.
On Wednesday, Dominican authorities announced four more arrests in connection to the Sunday night shooting.
"In the last few hours we've arrested four additional people linked directly to the attack on David Ortiz, including the shooter," said the island nation's Attorney General Jean Alain Rodríguez.
Police say the group charged $7,800 to carry out the hit. The gunman, now identified at 25-year-old Rolfy Ferreyra Cruz was captured Tuesday alongside three other suspects during a raid 100 miles NW of Santo Domingo.

"We also found the weapon in that raid, suspects buried [it] outside a nearby home," said Dominican Police Commissioner Ney Aldrin Bautista who also said a bullet matching the gun was recovered at the scene of the shooting.
Investigators have also released surveillance video showing how Sunday night's ambush was planned.
They say Eddy Feliz Garcia and the shooter can be seen with another group of people tracking Ortiz near the Dial Bar in two cars and motorcycle.
Surveillance captures at least one car driving around the block, before Feliz Garcia and the gunman proceed to get out of the vehicle, hop on a motorcycle and ride over to the bar.
Once there, the gunman hops off, runs behind Ortiz and shoots him before getting away with the weapon in hand. A crowd of witnesses then jump into action, pushing Feliz Garcia off the bike and attacking the 25-year-old before turning him over to police.
"We recognize the symbolism David Ortiz represents and understand our responsibility to solve this," said Alain Rodriguez.
Police say a cell phone recovered at the scene of the shooting provided them a digital trail. They still won't say who gave the order to carry out the hit. But they do know more suspects remain at large.
