David Ortiz Meets With Vin Scully
BOSTON (CBS) -- As he rounds third and heads home in his final MLB season, David Ortiz is making sure he covers all the bases.
So on Sunday, prior to Ortiz's final game at Dodger Stadium, the slugger paid a visit to legendary broadcaster Vin Scully, who is also retiring following this season.
Ortiz stopped by the broadcast booth to share a chat with Scully, who has been calling Dodgers games for a record 67 seasons. The two posed for a few pictures with each other, which the two teams sent out on Twitter.
Ortiz was honored by the Dodgers on Friday, with Scully narrating a video tribute to the Boston DH. The Red Sox returned the favor the following night, presenting Scully with a framed picture of him tossing out the first pitch at Fenway Park, along with a 1949 game program for a Boston University-Maryland tilt that Scully called at Fenway.
