Danny Amendola's Interview With Adam Jones Cut Short
BOSTON (CBS) - Wide receiver Danny Amendola is entering his sixth season as a professional football player and his second with the New England Patriots, and the knock on him throughout his career has been his inability to stay healthy.
Amendola, when healthy, is a reliable pass catcher that's shifty and can escape tackles. The operative phrase being "when healthy."
In his five seasons he's played all 16 games just one time, and a number of different injuries have hampered his promising career -- his high-water mark coming in 2010 when he led the league in all-purpose yards.
98.5 The Sports Hub's The Adam Jones Show had Amendola on Tuesday night to discuss his upcoming charity event, offseason workouts and preview the 2014 season, but it was cut short when Adam Jones started pressing the receiver on injury questions.
"You've had a fairly extensive injury history through the course of your career and your time in the league. You've been described as injury prone, or fragile or even unlucky. Using that word, or maybe another that comes to mind for you, how would you describe your injury situation?"
"It's not something I really think about to tell the truth. My job is to be as healthy as I can and play good football. That's really the only thing I focus on. I don't really think about it too much," said Amendola.
Jones then asked Amendola about how he's currently faring health-wise, and after one more injury question the line cut out. Amendola never called back.
