NH Man Charged With Assaulting Mother, Waving Knife At Drivers In Road Rage Incident

HOOKSETT, N.H. (CBS) -- A man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly assaulted his mother and waved a pocketknife at drivers during a road rage incident Friday in Hooksett, New Hampshire.

Daniel Rabbitt, 36, of Manchester, N.H., was charged with domestic assault, criminal mischief and being a felon in possession of a deadly weapon, according to a Hooksett police news statement released on Friday.

Police say they were called to Hooksett Road near Manchester Animal Hospital after receiving a report about a man, later identified as Rabbitt, who had punched a mail box and flashed the knife at drivers while flipping them off.

Rabbitt, who punched his mother in the face about 15 minutes earlier, police say, was told at gunpoint to drop the knife, which he eventually did before being taken into custody.

He was released on $15,000 bail. It's unclear when Rabbitt will appear in court.
