Former NHL Goon Dale Purinton Got Arrested For Burglary And His Mugshot Is Terrifying
BOSTON (CBS) -- Former NHL player Dale Purinton was arrested yesterday on burglary charges, and based on his mugshot he's not a man you'd want to confront in a dark alley.
Purinton, 38, was a pure fighter in his brief NHL career with the Rangers, amassing 578 penalty minutes and 4 goals in 181 career games. Here's a clip of him tussling with the Bruins' Sandy McCarthy in 2003:
He used to tangle with Andrei Nazarov when he was on the Bruins as well, and took part in a good old-fashioned donnybrook at the Garden in 2004.
Clearly, this is not a stable man.
According to a report from the Oneida County Sheriff's Department in New York, Purinton "broke into a residence and caused physical injury to the sole occupant in the residence." So his experience inflicting physical harm apparently helped him. But police executed the active warrant for his arrest and took him in.
Purinton also took this menacing mugshot:
So now, not only are concussions an issue for former NHL fighters, but so is criminal activity. Purinton should have no trouble establishing dominance in jail.
