Daily Talker: Your Reaction To Donald Sterling's Punishment
NBA team owners are almost unanimously supporting the NBA commissioner's decision to ban Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling for life for making racist comments that hurt the league.
Saying the comments "simply have no place in the NBA," Commissioner Adam Silver also fined Sterling $2.5 million, and recommended that Sterling sell the team. If three-fourths of NBA owners agree, Sterling will be forced to sell.
"It's the start to the healing process that we need. And it's the start for our organization," said Clippers head coach Doc Rivers.
The penalty is the harshest one ever issued by the league, and one of the stiffest punishments ever given to an owner in professional sports.
Sterling has not commented on the decision, and NBA sources say the move almost certainly will be challenged in court.
What do you think of the punishment for Sterling? Is forcing him to sell the team going too far? Share your comments below, and watch for them on WBZ News in the Morning from 4:30 to 7:00 a.m.
