Man Accused Of Attacking Brookline Store Clerk With Box Cutter Arrested
BROOKLINE (CBS) -- Two customers at a Brookline convenience store restrained a man until police arrived Friday morning after he allegedly attacked a clerk with a box cutter.
Police were called to the 7-Eleven on Commonwealth Avenue next door to Elements Massage around 7:20 a.m. on a report of a disturbance, according to the Brookline Police Facebook page.
Investigators say the man got into an argument with the clerk, and he showed the box cutter and a struggle ensued.
During the incident, the clerk sustained cuts to his head, police say. He was taken by ambulance to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston after suffering non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect, who was held by two customers, taken into custody has not been identified by police. He faces a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
He is also expected to be arraigned Friday afternoon.
The store was closed for a time, but by noon it had reopened.
Surveillance video of the attack is expected to be released Friday afternoon by police.
No additional information was immediately available.
