Cuisinart Food Processors Recalled; Consumers Find Broken Blades In Food
STAMFORD, Conn. (CBS) – About 8 million Cuisinart food processors are being recalled because their riveted blades can crack and break.
Brand owner Conair says that small, metal pieces of the riveted blade can fall off and mix with processed food.
"Conair has received 69 reports of consumers finding broken pieces of the blade in processed food, including 30 reports of mouth lacerations or tooth injuries," the Consumer Product Safety Commission says.
The recall affects more than 20 model numbers on units that were sold between July 1996 and Dec. 2015.

The CPSC says anyone who has a recalled food processor should stop using it immediately and contact Cuisinart for a free replacement blade.
