Crowds Line Boston Marathon Finish Line For SI Cover

BOSTON (CBS) - A huge crowd showed up at the Boston Marathon finish line on Saturday to take part in a photo shoot for the Sports Illustrated cover to mark the one year anniversary of the marathon bombings.

The event was open to the public. Bombing survivors, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, first responders and others gathered on Boylston Street in a show of resilience.

The Associated Press estimated more than 2,000 people showed up.

The SI issue is due to hit newsstands on April 16, one day after the anniversary of the attacks.

A year ago, Sports Illustrated used the iconic image of three police officers and a runner who had been knocked to the ground.
