Criminal Charges Against Teens Rescued From Drifting Dock In Pelham

PELHAM, N.H. (CBS) – Three teenagers who had to be rescued from the middle of a pond on Friday are now facing charges of criminal mischief.

Pelham, New Hampshire police say 17-year-old Mario Aybar, of Lowell, Mass., and 18-Year-olds Nicholas Bridge and Dakota Redding, both of Dracut, Mass. were fishing at Long Pond on Friday evening.

At some point, police say the teenagers detached a portion of the town dock that they were standing on in an attempt to get into a better location to catch fish.

The three did not have a paddle, and the wind quickly pushed the section of dock about 70 feet offshore.

A resident who lives by the pond was able to bring them to shore on a personal watercraft.

Members of Pelham Parks and Recreation later retrieved and re-secured the section of dock to the main dock.

Bridge was also charged with transporting alcoholic beverages.
