Crews Knock Down 5-Alarm Fire In Chelsea Neighborhood
CHELSEA (CBS) - Crews doused a 5-alarm fire that impacted six homes on Arlington Street on Sunday afternoon.
All of the homes' occupants got out safely after the fire erupted around 4 p.m. One firefighter suffered smoke inhalation.
One resident told WBZ-TV she was watching movies after having dinner when a neighbor knocked on her door to warn her of the fire. Another resident was thankful to be alive.
"I am just traumatized. I thought it was all a bad dream," Vaida Michelle told WBZ-TV.
Also, firefighters rescued a cat from one of the homes impacted. The cat's name is Smoky.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The Red Cross is on the scene to assist anybody impact by the fire.
Shuttle buses are running between North Station and Lynn to replace the Newburyport/Rockport line 2165 train, according to the MBTA. A portion of Arlington Street runs over the Commuter rail tracks.
