Photos Show Deer, Coyote In 'Standoff' At Gloucester's Mill River
GLOUCESTER (CBS) – A Gloucester coyote was looking for breakfast Saturday morning. But the animal's meal didn't come at the expense of a deer that was wading in the river nearby.
Photos posted on Good Morning Gloucester show the deer standing in the shallow water of the Mill River while the coyote lurks nearby.
Photographer Neil Mathews captured pictures showing the deer standing still in the water, keeping its distance from the coyote.
According to Good Morning Gloucester, the coyote paced in and out of the woods hoping the deer would leave the river.
Instead, the deer moved further down the river and the coyote retreated, Good Morning Gloucester reported.
