Coast Guard Medevacs Lobsterman Who Was Accidentally Impaled
BOSTON (CBS) -- A crew member aboard a lobster boat had to be taken to a hospital via U.S. Coast Guard helicopter after he was accidentally impaled Tuesday.
The Coast Guard said a crew member on the lobster boat Eagle contacted them around 10:15 a.m. Tuesday after the 41-year-old man was injured.
The Eagle was about 130 nautical miles east of Cape Cod at the time.
It was not yet known how the man was impaled.
A MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter was sent around 11 a.m. The helicopter hoisted the man and took him to Cape Cod Hospital.
