Cleanup Begins After Strong Storms Tear Across Mass.
WRENTHAM (CBS) - Cleanup crews got to work in Wrentham Tuesday night, chopping up a massive old tree knocked down when a strong storm blew through town.
Wrentham resident Julie Sedam says, "It was just crazy, it came in so quick and I didn't expect it to be as bad as it was."
Sedam and her kids came to see what happened when they were hiding in their basement during the tornado warning that was issued Tuesday evening.
There have been no confirmed tornado sightings. The National Weather Service says there were several wall/funnel cloud reports in Wrentham, Taunton and Mansfield.
The National Weather Service will conduct a survey Wednesday morning to determine if a microburst or tornado occurred.
Eleven-year-old Hunter Sedam says, "It was scary, it was rumbling our house and our dogs went crazy and I didn't like it."
Eight-year-old Lily Sedam says, "It was very, very scary my mom said get into the basement."
But just a block away, a close call in a pediatricians office when a tree came crashing down on a car. The car's owner, one of the nurses, was inside and not hurt, but her car was totaled.
State Senator Richard Ross lives in the center of town. "I didn't expect damage here," Ross said. "I guess we got it."
But what they did find, hidden beneath the limbs and broken branches, the Helen Keller monument barely with a scratch and that wasn't the only bit of good news for the town. Amazingly, no one was hurt.
