Citizens Bank Blames 'Vendor Processing Issue' For Missing Direct Deposits
BOSTON (CBS) – Citizens Bank says an issue that infuriated customers Friday morning has been resolved.
Account holders who were counting on their paychecks being directly deposited overnight woke up and found out that the money wasn't there.
They also complained about not having mobile access.
@AskCitizensBank @CitizensBank No mobile access & no deposits today. That's ok, it's not like it's my money. Carry On & Charge Fees.

That led many to worry they'd be hit with fees for payments that were missed because of the issue.
Peter Lucht, Citizens' head of communications, blamed the glitch on a "vendor processing issue, affecting multiple financial institutions."
The bank tweeted just after noon that the issue has been resolved.
2/2: Due to heavy volumes, we are expecting a slowdown in online and mobile banking. We appreciate your patience as we work through this.

A spokesperson told WBZ-TV customers will not be hit with any fees.
"As of 10:40 this morning, all customer accounts are current. We appreciate the patience of our customers as we worked through this issue, and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused," Lauren DiGeronimo said in a statement Friday afternoon.
