Chelsea Police Seek Man Facing Charges Who Escaped Hospital

CHELSEA (CBS) – Chelsea police are asking for the public's help locating a man who escaped Massachusetts General Hospital before he could be booked following a single-vehicle crash.

Mose Tene, 28, was transported to the hospital after a one-car crash on Highland Ave. in Chelsea. He suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Officers later discovered that the car Tene was driving had been reported stolen, he was not properly licensed and also had warrants out for his arrest.

An officer was stationed outside Tene's hospital room until he could be booked at police headquarters or arraigned in Chelsea District Court.

But at about 6 a.m. on Saturday, police said Tene was able to escape from his hospital room. A be on the lookout has been issued for Tene in order to find and arrest him.

According to police, Tene's background suggests that he does not pose a threat to the public. Still, Chelsea police said if spotted, Tene should not be approached.

Police released a photograph of Tene, but added that the picture is dated and his physical appearance may have changed since it was taken.
