Kelly Olynyk Expects To Play Wednesday Vs. Wizards

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Celtics will not have Al Horford or Jae Crowder Wednesday night when they look to bounce back against the Washington Wizards in the nation's capital, but they may get one of their walking wounded back.

Kelly Olynyk expects to make his season debut on Wednesday after missing the first six games of the season as he recovered from offseason shoulder surgery.

Olynyk was one of Boston's better shooters last season, hitting 40.5 percent of his shots from beyond the arc. He finished the year averaging 10 points and 4.1 rebounds over 69 regular season games, and his return should help stretch the floor for Boston's second unit.

The long-haired, stretch-four initially injured his shoulder last February in an overtime win over the Los Angeles Clippers, causing him to miss the next 14 games. Olynyk played the rest of the regular season but aggravated the shoulder in Game 1 of Boston's playoff series against the Atlanta Hawks. After missing Games 2 and 3 of the series, he was limited to just a total of 19 minutes in Games 4, 5 and 6. He underwent surgery on the shoulder in May, with a return expected by mid-November.
