Jared Sullinger Named Eastern Conference Player Of The Week

BOSTON (CBS) - After recording a double-double in each of Boston's three games last week, Celtics forward Jared Sullinger has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

Sullinger helped the Celtics go 2-1 last week, averaging 20.3 points, 12.7 rebounds and 1.67 blocks in wins over the Philadelphia 76ers and Sacramento Kings, and Boston's lone loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

Sullinger's best effort of the week came Friday night against the Kings, when he scored a career-high 31 points to go with 16 rebounds in Boston's 99-89 win. He had an impressive 19 point, 10 rebound effort against Philadelphia, and closed the week with his fifth straight double-double (11 points and 12 rebounds) in Sunday's loss to Dallas.

NBA Power Rankings: Celtics Fall Back One Spot To 27th

For the season, Sullinger is averaging 13.4 points and a team-leading 8.6 rebounds per game. He is the second Celtic to receive Player of the Week honors this season, with Jordan Crawford winning the award in early December.

Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant earned the honor for the Western Conference.
