Celtics Extend Contracts Of Danny Ainge And Brad Stevens

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Celtics announced Wednesday that the team has extended the contracts of both head coach Brad Stevens and president of basketball operations Danny Ainge. Terms of the extensions were not disclosed.

"A major job of ownership is to find the right people to run the basketball side," said CEO and managing partner Wyc Grousbeck. "We believe we have found them in Danny and Brad.

"Once you find your people, you need to support them in their efforts and create a work environment that enables them and the team to succeed."

Ainge has held his post as president of basketball operations since 2003. The Celtics have gone 565-484 under his watch, making 10 trips to the post-season with three Conference Finals appearances and two trips to the NBA Finals. Boston won their lone NBA title under Ainge in 2008, beating the Los Angeles Lakers in six games.
