Celtics' Bradley Out 'Couple Of Weeks' With Sprained Ankle

BOSTON (CBS) - Celtics guard Avery Bradley left Tuesday night's loss to the Miami Heat with a sprained right ankle, and will now miss a "couple of weeks" with the injury according to The Boston Globe's Gary Washburn.

Bradley left Tuesday night's game early in the second quarter after he came up limping while defending Miami guard Mario Chalmers. After trying to walk it off he made his way to the Boston locker room with trainer Ed Lacerte, and the team announced a short time later that Bradley would not return.

Recap: Heat Burn Celtics With Late Rally

Bradley has been solid for the Celtics this season, averaging a career-high 14.5 points in 43 games (all starts) while continuing his strong play on the defensive end.

Bradley's absence leaves Boston short at the shooting guard position. The Celtics are already thin at the position after trading away Jordan Crawford and MarShon Brooks last week, and it was learned on Tuesday that Jerryd Bayless will miss 7-10 days with a toe injury. That leaves Boston with a restricted Rajon Rondo (who likely won't play Wednesday night in Washington), rookie Phil Pressey, and Chris Johnson (who made his NBA debut Tuesday after inking a 10-day contract with Boston) among their healthy guards.

Forwards Jeff Green and Gerald Wallace could also see time at the two-guard spot in Bradley's absence.
