LOWELL (CBS) -- A man was pronounced dead at the scene of a car crash in Lowell Wednesday morning has died, police confirmed.
The District Attorney's Office identified the victim as 52-year-old Juan Ramon Rivera of Lowell.
Part of Gorham Street was blocked off for hours as police investigated the two-car crash, which occurred around 7:00 a.m.
A 2012 Honda Accord appeared to have front-end damage after colliding with a 2006 Mitsubishi Endeavor SUV and then smashing into a sign. The SUV had visible damage to its right side and rested against a telephone pole following the crash.
The D.A. said Rivera was driving the SUV. Preliminary investigations show the Accord was speeding and hit the SUV from behind.
