Sagamore Bridge construction may be done early, before Memorial Day weekend
BOURNE - Sagamore Bridge construction is ahead of schedule and could be done before the busy before Memorial Day weekend.
According to the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce, the project is "currently 33% complete" and is on track to be finished early.
The first phase of the project, repairs on the west side of the bridge, is done. Work has moved to phase two, which is repairing the middle of the bridge.
When they get to the final phase of fixing the east side and the sidewalk, the bridge will be closed to bicycles and pedestrians.
