Buy Or Sell: Goodell Loses His Job Over Ray Rice Controversy
BOSTON (CBS) -- It was a special all-NFL edition of "Buy or Sell" on The Adam Jones Show's Game of Jones.
Rich Keefe hit Jones with the following topics around the league:
- Buy or Sell having two Monday Night Football games in Week 1:
"When you already have the kickoff game on Thursday night, I feel like you don't need this second game. From a fantasy football standpoint I really don't like it. I guess I sell the idea," said Jones. "There is too much going on. I'm on board with a lot of football and football being back. But we had Thursday night, all the games on Sunday, I don't need an east coast, west coast game. I sell the idea of two Monday night games."
- Buy or Sell the NFL not seeing the Ray Rice video until Monday:
"I sell it," Jones said adamantly. "They're going to say they never saw it, and TMZ is going to say they never sought it out. They either didn't want to see it or were too stupid to see it through. It reflects poorly on the league."
- Buy or Sell Ray Rice ever playing in the NFL again:
"I think I buy it. Not that I'd want him on my team, but we've see a lot of reclamation projects in this league: Ray Lewis being one, Michael Vick another," said Jones. "So many guys in professional sports are given second chances that I find it hard to believe it won't happen."
- Buy or Sell Roger Goodell losing his job:
"I buy that he should, so I'll buy it. What does the league really lose if he resigns or they fire him? They can't find another guy to be the face of the league and be a 'yes man' for the 32 owners?" asked Jones. "They can find another guy like that in a heartbeat."
- Buy or Sell the Bears home loss to Buffalo being the worst of the weekend:
"I think you have to buy that. I can't think of anything else that close," said Jones. "The way they lost was really bad for Dallas, but I'll buy that. (The Bears) are thought of as a playoff team and a competitive team in the NFC North. I'm not saying they're out, but the expectations they have and the expectations for a team like the Bills, that's as bad as a Week 1 loss as we saw."
