Burlington Police SUV Involved In Crash

BURLINGTON (CBS) – Two people, including a Burlington Police officer, were injured in a car crash late Wednesday afternoon.

Burlington Police say the officer Robert Aloisi was responding to a burglar alarm at Rockland Trust with his lights and sirens on when he collided with a Subaru Outback at the intersection of Cambridge Street and Nelson Road.

Aloisi was traveling north on Cambridge Street at the time of the crash.

The Subaru flipped over and the police SUV ended up hitting a utility pole.

The officer and the driver of the Subaru were able to remove themselves from their vehicles and were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

State Police are investigating the crash.

The alarm at Rockland Trust had been set off accidentally by contractors.
