Bruins Trade Rights To Soderberg To Colorado For 2016 Sixth-Round Pick
BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Bruins announced earlier this offseason they would not be reuniting with soon-to-be free agent Carl Soderberg.
So on Thursday, Boston traded the rights to Soderberg to the Colorado Avalanche for a 2016 sixth-round pick.
The pick originally belonged to Boston and was part of the March 2, 2015 trade between the B's and Avalanche that brought Max Talbot and Paul Carey to Boston in exchange for Jordan Caron.
Soderberg played in 161 regular season NHL games with Boston, recording 29 goals and 65 assists for 94 points. The 29-year-old also skated in 14 playoff games, scoring one goal to go with five assists.
Soderberg was drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the second round (49th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, and was acquired by the Bruins in July 2007 in exchange for Hannu Toivonen. He will be an unrestricted free agent on July 1, 2015.
