Bruins' Eriksson Cleared For Contact
BOSTON (CBS) - There is finally some good news on the Loui Eriksson front for the Boston Bruins.
Head coach Claude Julien announced Wednesday that Eriksson has been cleared for contact, a big step forward for the winger who has been sidelined since December 7 following his second concussion of the season.
Eriksson had been skating with the team with non-contact jersey, but had a full-contact jersey on during Wednesday's practice session.
"He's feeling good, he's been cleared for contact, now it's just a matter of time of him working through that and getting himself back in the lineup," said Julien.
He is not expected to play in Thursday night's game against the Los Angeles Kings, Julien said.

In his first season in Boston, Eriksson has five goals and nine assists in 24 games played. He suffered his first concussion of the season on October 23 against the Buffalo Sabres and missed nearly two weeks of action. Though he struggled early in the season, Eriksson scored three goals and tallied eight assists in the month of November.
Eriksson was named to the Swedish Olympic team on Tuesday, joining four other Bruins who will participate in the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.
