Browner On Patriots GameDay: Watching Last Year's Super Bowl 'Toughest Thing Ever'

BOSTON (CBS) --  Patriots cornerback Brandon Browner owns a Super Bowl ring, but he'd really like to earn another one.

Browner had to sit and watch as the Seattle Seahawks beat up on the Denver Broncos in February, the result of a non-performance enhancing drug suspension. While his Seattle teammates were celebrating their glory through the streets of New York, Browner was at home with his family.

"It was the toughest thing ever," Browner told WBZ-TV's Steve Burton for Sunday's edition of Patriots GameDay. "I had my family over and we all watched it. It was hard for me to sit down with them and watch it, because they enjoyed it. They know my teammates so they were screaming when they made plays.

"It was tough for me. I watched it in my room all by myself; I couldn't be down there with my family, screaming for my teammates, knowing that I should have been out there."

Browner faced a year-long suspension heading into this season, but it was reduced to just the first four games of the season. The corner, who spent the last three years as part of Seattle's famous "Legion Of Boom," has combined with Darrelle Revis to give New England one of the best secondaries in the NFL.

With the Patriots sitting at 8-2 and atop the AFC heading into their Week 12 game against the Detroit Lions, Browner doesn't want to think too far ahead. But he has a good chance at winning another Super Bowl ring, and this time it would mean much more.

"It would be awesome to get it back-to-back and it would be awesome to actually play in it," he said. "That's the goal week-in and week-out and it's a challenge. Day-by-day you have to have good practices here, and I think we step up to the challenge week in and week out we'll be alright.

"I don't want to make any predictions, but this is a really good team we have here," he said of the Patriots, who have won six straight. "Each week poses its different challenge; whether it's a good quarterback or us getting in our own way – riding our own wave. You never want to get too high or too low. You need to keep an even keel and come to work every day. Put your hard hat on and do what's asked of you."
