Brockton Police Chase Ends With Crash, Two Suspects On Loose
BROCKTON (CBS) -- Officers are looking for two people who fled after a police chase overnight.
Brockton Police said it began when they responded to reports of shots fired on Ford Street around 12:30 a.m. Thursday.
When they arrived at the street, they tried to pull over a Toyota Camry that then took off.
After a chase, the driver stopped and parked on Pleasant Street--but when the pursuing officer turned the corner, he didn't see the parked car and crashed into the back of it.
That officer suffered minor injuries, and is expected to be okay.
The driver and one passenger from the Camry took off on foot--but police found the car's owner in the back seat.
Police said he was arrested for possession of marijuana and for having a stun gun.
He is due to be arraigned on those charges later Thursday morning. He has not yet been identified.
Police said they weren't sure if the car and its occupants were related to the reports of shots fired.
They are still looking for the two people, but said they don't believe there is any threat to public safety.
