Brockton Man Charged With Punching Gay Man In Taunton
TAUNTON (CBS) – A Brockton man is accused of attacking a gay man in Taunton.
Michael Cates, 34, was ordered held without bail after he allegedly yelled a homosexual slur and punched a man in the face when the victim was outside his home with his husband. Police say Cates then got back in his car and drove off. A Pride flag was flying outside the home at the time.
The victim lost two teeth in the attack.
Cates will face a dangerousness hearing on Aug. 6
