3 Arrested After Shooting Suspect Leads State Police On Pursuit
BRAINTREE (CBS) -- Police in Braintree arrested three people after a pursuit Tuesday afternoon. State Police said at least the man driving was a suspect in a shooting that occurred several weeks ago in Plymouth.
According to Plymouth Police, that suspect is 20-year-old Melik Harrison. He was wanted in connection with a shooting that took place among a group of people who know each other on Oct. 18.
Their car was found on Allen Street in Braintree but the suspects continued to run away. They were arrested shortly before 4 p.m.
Michael Brooks, who lives nearby said he was "a little paranoid. I checked on my garage to make sure everything was okay in there."
"I saw a car fly by, a few seconds before that though there was a lot of honking, a car screeching and then I saw it zip by," Brooks said.
Rob Roper said, "I heard screening then these three guys just ran through hopped the fence."
The State Police helicopter and K9 units assisted in the search.
"I saw dozens of cop cars just zipping on by back and forth and a little bit after that I saw a cop standing out front with a rifle," said Brooks.
According to Braintree police, the pursuit may have started in Plymouth.
Braintree High School delayed dismissal and kept students inside for a "remain in place" as police searched the area but they have since been dismissed.
"It's sad this is coming to Braintree," said Roper.
