Brady Absent From Thursday's Practice, But Expected To Play In Patriots' Opener

BOSTON (CBS) -- Tom Brady was not on the practice field Thursday afternoon, the only player absent from the Patriots' practice session.

But that doesn't mean the Jimmy Garoppolo era in New England will get an early start. Have no fear about Brady, as ESPNBoston's Mike Reiss Tweeted that No. 12 will play in Sunday's season opener against the Dolphins in Miami despite his absence on Thursday.

Brady did not appear on the team's first practice/injury report of the season on Wednesday, but was listed with a calf injury on Thursday's report.

Four Patriots were limited in practice for the second day in a row on Thursday: defensive lineman Mike Buchanan (ankle), tight end Rob Gronkowski (knee), and defensive tackles Chris Jones (ankle) and Sealver Siliga (hand).
