Boston's Best Vegan-Friendly Restaurants
My Thai Vegan Café
3 Beach St., Suite 2
Boston, MA 02111
(617) 451-2395
Yes, it really is that rarest of beasts — a vegan Thai restaurant. My Thai Vegan Cafe is completely delicious and oh so affordable. The café can be a little hard to find, as it is on the second floor, but it is more than worth the little extra time it takes to find it the first time around. Great for lunch or dinner, you'll find service to be laid back but very friendly.
True Bistro

Somerville, MA 02144
(617) 627-9000

True Bistro is an amazing choice for vegans. While many vegan places seem geared toward a causal lunch or a quick bite on the go, True Bistro has a cozy upscale air. It's perfect for dinner, a first date or a meal out with friends. This spot does dinner, brunch and has an impressive wine and drink list to boot. You'll love all of the menu options and how fresh and high quality all of the ingredients are.
The Beehive
541 Tremont St.
Boston, MA 02116
(617) 423-0069
www.beehiveboston.com
The Beehive is not a strictly vegan restaurant, but it tends to have some great vegan options on its menu from time to time and is very accommodating of all kinds of food lifestyles. On top of that, it is a great little venue for live music. This award winner is the type of place where you can go for a whole night. It even offers private party rentals for anywhere from four to 450 people — and yes, you can pick your menu for private parties.
Root
487 Cambridge St.
Allston, MA 02134
(617) 208-6091
www.facebook.com/rootboston
Root stands out even in Allston, which has a large selection of vegan and vegetarian eateries. The food is as fresh as it gets and quite affordable for the quality. And it has a great take-out menu so you can eat delicious food in the comfort of your own home or at the office. If you stop in, you definitely have to try the homemade basil lemonade. It's worth a trip to Root all on its own.
Veggie Galaxy
450 Massachusetts Ave.
Cambridge, MA 02139
(617) 497-1513
www.veggiegalaxy.com
Veggie Galaxy prides itself on making good food for everyone — and everyone includes vegans, vegetarians, kids and people looking for gluten-free options. Did we mention it serves breakfast all day long? Finally there's a vegetarian restaurant that serves breakfast. Even better is that it has a bakery on site and all bakery items are vegan-friendly.
