Boston Carnival Village is an all-day outdoor event with face painting, food and beverages, surrounded by Caribbean motifs and music. BCV festivities include an entourage of young musicians delighted to share their music with Boston families. It's one of the biggest and one of the last all-day concert combo carnivals of the season at Franklin Park's White Stadium. A number of talented steel bands will be in attendance with kettle drums and all things Caribbean. A host of grass skirt dancers and stunning short plays of color and energy will be performed, ending in a variety of children's bedtime stories performed by The Mirage Masqueraders.

Ms. Rhythm & Friends of the Boston Rhythm Riders are hosting a free line dancing party at Franklin park! Fun for the entire family and certainly a creative way to burn some calories. You don't need to know the moves it's easy to follow along. Ask the grandparents along for a surprise moment to dance in the grass. Line Dancing is scheduled every Wednesday evening through the end of August, weather permitting. Stay hydrated! Bring a water bottle, a favorite picnic blanket or folding chair and always remember the bug spray!

Shakespeare on the Common is a summer stock event sponsored by the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company and hosted all summer in partnership with Mayor Walsh and Boston's Free Friday Flicks on the Parkman Bandstand. Performances of King Lear have been ongoing this summer and will be one of the best family activities to fit in before the summer ends. Reignite the flame of dramatic expression with this magical troupe of players who have volunteered to entertain Boston families with dramatic art this year.

It's a well-known fact, and it's very possible you've caught yourself singing along or dancing in time to their classic jazz tunes along the Revere beachfront this summer. A popular band with a smooth sound that is in demand from coast to coast, Rico & The Jump 'n' Jive Review is going to have your family dancing and singing along! If you decide to bring the family to the beach one last time before summer ends, take a ride along the shoreline to Hampton Beach's Seashell Stage. You'll see them performing outdoors over the month of August as well.

Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area is nestled in the very heart of Boston's harbor. Enjoy a special send off to this summer season on Spectacle Island with the treasures that wash ashore. Children of all ages are invited to freely create mosaics of sand and sea glass for the family to proudly display and enjoy at home. The season finale, a masterpiece of art designed by the youngest family members, is a spectacular way to remember the fun in the sun and sand in the summer of 2015. The artwork may also be proudly displayed in the visitor center ... decisions, decisions.
