6 Wounded In 3 Overnight Shootings In Boston
BOSTON (CBS) – Six people were wounded within a half-hour overnight in three separate shootings in Boston.
It began just before midnight, when a man was shot while sitting in his car at a Burger King on Cummins Highway in Mattapan. He was rushed to Brigham and Women's Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Then another person was shot on Elder Street in Roxbury.
A short time later during a party on Copeland Street in Roxbury, four people were shot. Three people of them have life-threatening injuries. A fourth person was hospitalized with a superficial wound.
There have been no arrests in any of the shootings at this point. Police Commissioner William Evans said none of the witnesses are talking in the Copeland Street attack.
"There was an argument between parties who knew each other and then nobody wants to help us and tell us exactly what happened so we worry now where's the retaliation going to come and so we're just hoping the public steps up, sort of help us with this one because we don't need anymore bloodshed. We were hoping for a quiet summer and this is not a good start," he told WBZ-TV.
