Boston Police Officer On Detail Hurt In Crash In Jamaica Plain
BOSTON (CBS) - A Boston Police officer was hurt in a crash while on a detail Monday afternoon in Jamaica Plain.
The officer, who has not been identified, was struck near the intersection of Hyde Park Avenue and Ukraine Way around 12:20 p.m. when an SUV and a van collided. Police told WBZ-TV the officer's injuries were "non-life threatening."
A dump truck was also involved. The company told WBZ-TV they believe their driver passed out at the wheel briefly.
The intersection was closed off for the investigation.

"Having anyone hurt, especially a police officer, that should never happen," said neighbor Martines Andrews.
He also said the intersection sees collisions often. "During rush hour here, it is a madhouse."
There's no word yet on any charges or what caused the crash.
