Boston Interfaith Gathering Looks To Heal Post-Election Rifts
BOSTON (CBS) -- As the United States prepares to inaugurate a new president next month, an interfaith gathering was held Sunday evening at the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center.
For those feeling disenfranchised by the election last month of President-elect Donald Trump, the goal was to come together and heal.
Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and Senator Elizabeth Warren both attended the event. Sen. Warren commented on some of Mr. Trump's selections for his incoming team of advisors.
"I must say I am really discouraged by the people he's bringing into his administration. He starts with someone like Steve Bannon, who celebrates white supremacy," Sen. Warren said.
Organizers called on people to fight bullying and work across political and religious lines.
