Spring Is In Full Bloom At Boston Flower & Garden Show
BOSTON (CBS) - The skies have been gray, but nature is in bloom at the Boston Flower & Garden Show's opening day. I wish we had "smell-a-vision" because the smell of Spring is everywhere at the Seaport World Trade Center.
"I think it's absolutely stunning this year," says Pat Sturdevant, a flower show visitor.
"This is like an introduction to Spring," adds Penny Sullivan.
The show is a place to be inspired, to ask questions and get ideas. "They will get inspiration for their gardens as well as tools, plants, bulbs, furniture, everything that anyone would need to get started.
And it's just going to be a few weeks from now when we can all start getting our hands dirty," says show director Carolyn Weston.
This year's show theme is Nurtured by Nature, and the colors, the designs and the out of left field whimsy are guaranteed to nurture the inner gardener in us all.
"It's my birthday. My daughter gave it to me as my birthday present and it's wonderful on a start of spring day to be here and see all the flowers. It's truly beautiful," says Petrina Floody.
"I look forward to getting home and being able to do more raking and working on the garden," adds Roland Stern, another flower show visitor.
The Boston Flower & Garden show runs through Sunday, March 20th at the Seaport World Trade Center.
