Boston Flower & Garden Show Opens Wednesday
BOSTON (CBS) --- The official start of spring is just nine days away but it's already in full bloom at the Seaport World Trade Center.
The Boston Flower & Garden Show opens Wednesday morning.
Carolyn Weston is the director of the show, so in a way, she's in charge of caring for the two-million blooming flowers and handful of birds currently living in the building.
In just three days, more than 4,000 volunteers have been working around the clock to turn an empty room into a dream garden.
Everyone has a job to do before an estimated 60,000 people stop by to escape the winter weather.
Elvin Floyd is one of the 20 vendors at the show. He's selling butterflies from a conservation project in South America. He comes every year and says it's always a success.
"Everyone comes to spend money and have fun, it's a great show," he said.
Nancy Goldstein is easy to spot on the convention floor wearing roller blades to get around quicker.
"I've been here since 11 yesterday morning," she said on Tuesday morning.
She may be slowed down when the crowds arrive but for now, she's able to set up at lighting pace.
