Fabergé Egg Worth $740,000 On Display In Boston Jewelry Store

BOSTON (CBS) – If you're looking to add this item from a Boston jewelry store, you'll need quite the budget.

A Fabergé egg worth about $740,000 is currently on display at Dorfman Jewelers on Newbury Street after it was delivered by armored car on Wednesday morning.

The Spring Egg is one of four new Imperial Eggs called the Four Seasons. If you're interested in purchasing all four, the collection can be had for a mere $2.96 million.

The new collection is the first set of Imperial Eggs from Fabergé made in 99 years.

Made up of 138.36 karats of emeralds, 36 princess cut Paraiba tourmalines, and 5,638 round white diamonds, the Spring Egg is set in 18 karat rose and white gold.

In addition to the egg, several other pieces of more affordable Fabergé jewelry will also be on display at Dorfman Jewelers.
