Judge to decide if Boston College had right to suspend swim team over alleged hazing

BOSTON - A judge is now considering whether the Boston College Swim and Dive Team can resume competition.

The entire team was suspended indefinitely after accusations of hazing emerged. Some of the students - and their parents - have taken the school to court and asked a judge to reinstate the team.

According to court paperwork, Boston College says an investigation found that during a team party on Sept. 3 freshmen were involved in a series of organized drinking games and binge drinking. Also, they were given bags to wear around their necks for vomit.

The investigation found some students got sick and others past out. The college says the athletes violated the Student Code of Conduct.
