Star-Studded 'Black Mass' Screening In Brookline To Have 'Strong Police Presence'

BROOKLINE (CBS) -- Expect to see stepped-up security on Tuesday when Brookline rolls out the red carpet for celebrities and stars of the new movie about James "Whitey Bulger."

Brookline police took to social media to let everyone know that the special screening of "Black Mass" at the Coolidge Corner Theatre will be monitored closely by officers.

"Barricades will be deployed in the immediate area of the 'red carpet' activities," the town says. "Officers will be assigned to locations to ensure public safety is maintained for pedestrian movement."

Johnny Depp, who has earned rave reviews for his portrayal of the notorious gangster, is expected to attend the screening, along with co-star Dakota Johnson and director Scott Cooper. New England Patriots players Patrick Chung, Stephen Gostowski, Jabaal Sheard and Nate Ebner were also on the celebrity list.

The stars are expected to arrive at 6 p.m. Tuesday evening. Police say traffic and parking will be impacted by the event (Click here for more information).
