Bicyclist Found Dead In Lowell Forest

LOWELL (CBS) -- Investigators say a bicyclist found dead in a Lowell forest Saturday appears to have died from injuries suffered in a fall from his mountain bike.

Lowell Police were called to Lowell-Dracut-Tyngsboro State Forest around 4:30 p.m. after another bicyclist spotted the badly injured man.

EMS, firefighters and police officers had to navigate a densely wooded area to reach the unidentified man, but by the time they found him he had passed away.

There were no apparent signs of foul play, according to the Middlesex District Attorney's Office.

The biker will be identified after his family has been notified, investigators said.

The incident remains under investigation. No additional information was immediately available.
