Bertrand: 'I Want Nothing To Do With Boston Olympics'
BOSTON (CBS) - In case you haven't heard, the city of Boston is one of four United States cities making bids to host the 2024 Summer Olympics. The Boston group, with Mayor Marty Walsh in tow, made their final pitch to the United States Olympic Committee on Tuesday.
The USOC is expected to pick their candidate city (either San Francisco, Washington, Los Angeles or Boston) in early 2015, and after that the candidate city will be presented to the International Olympic Committee, or IOC for short, for the final selection against other cities around the globe.
"I'm against the idea 100 percent. I do not like the idea. I do not want the event here. I do not want the money spent on this event. I don't want any of the headaches that come along with hosting the Olympics," 98.5 The Sports Hub's Marc Bertrand said Wednesday.
"It has not gone well for other cities who have hosted the Olympics. I want nothing to do with it here."
Beetle is fervently against the Boston Olympics, whereas Michael Felger is more open to the possibility.
"I've always been in favor of it," said Felger.
Tony Massarotti, on the other hand, actually thought it was the Winter Olympics this whole time.
