Belichick Offers Nothing On Revis' Reported Tardiness

BOSTON (CBS) -- On Wednesday, Darrelle Revis told reporters to ask Patriots head coach Bill Belichick about his absence from Tuesday's practice.

It was reported that Revis was late (or going to be late) for Tuesday's early morning session, and was either sent home or told to stay home by Belichick. The coach was asked about the situation on Friday morning, but did not offer much of an explanation.

"Anything between me and the players is between myself and the players," said Belichick.

When asked if he sent Revis home, Bill was quick to respond with "I didn't say that." Further pressed on the matter, Belichick stated his desire to move on to Sunday's opponent: The Chicago Bears.

"I'm ready to talk about the Bears. Anything else is between myself and the players," he said.

Asked if Tuesday's absence will play impact Revis' playing time on Sunday, Belichick once again played coy.

"I think the Bears are really a good team. I think they're going to be a tough, tough matchup for us," he said. "We're going to do the best we can to match up against them."

Belichick has sent players home in the past for being late to practice, most notably a handful of players including Adalius Thomas and Randy Moss in 2009 when a snowstorm kept them from getting to Gillette on time.

While Bill didn't want to discuss this most recent issue, Revis reportedly spoke with his head coach about it later on Tuesday, and it appears it's a dormant issue.
