Democrat Martha Coakley and Republican Charlie Baker are making their final pitches to voters on Monday while also taking time out to attend the funeral of longtime Boston Mayor Thomas Menino.
Greeting workers at a construction site in Cambridge, Coakley said she felt enthusiastic about her chances, adding that the race will likely be decided by the strength of the candidates' field organizations on Tuesday.
Baker began his day campaigning in Braintree with Mayor Joe Sullivan.
Secretary of State William Galvin, the state's top election official, planned to make his prediction for voter turnout later on Monday.
Voters will also be deciding several other statewide races and four ballot questions.
