Avery Bradley Named To NBA All-Defensive 1st Team

BOSTON (CBS) -- Avery Bradley puts the team ahead of his personal goals, but the Celtics guard has always wanted to make the NBA's All-Defensive first team.

He finally accomplished that goal on Wednesday after a stellar defensive season for the green in 2015-16. Bradley received 62 first team votes, the most among all NBA guards and third most among all players.

Bradley averaged a career-high 1.5 steals per game last season and helped the Celtics defense finish fourth in the NBA in defensive rating. He finished sixth in the NBA's Defensive Player of the Year award, an honor taken home by San Antonio forward Kawhi Leonard.

Bradley is joined by L.A. Clippers guard Chris Paul, Leonard (the top vote-getter in 2015-16), Golden State forward Draymond Green and Clippers center DeAndre Jordan on the NBA's first team All-Defense.
